​​David Jones is a country guitarist from Northwest Indiana, who discovered his passion for playing guitar at age 13. Mostly self-taught, he refined his technique through classical training with Mario Moreno and mentorship from Tom Zank.
After starting in metal bands, David transitioned to country, performing across the region in several bands, including Steel Country, Whiskey Thomas and later becoming lead guitarist for Nate Venturelli in 2024, as well as Acoustic guitarist for up and coming country vocalist, Ashlyn.
His influences include Brent Mason, Vince Gill, Brad Paisley, Roy Clark, Zach Top, Tom Zank, and Chuck Ward.
In 2025, David was named “Guitarist of the Year” at the Josie Music Awards held at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee— a milestone moment in his growing career.
In 2026 he joined forces once again with his mentor Tom Zank to pay homage to two country powerhouses, Travis Tritt & Tim McGraw in the Tritt/McGraw Tribute Band as Lead Guitarist.

On November 2, 2025,  David attended the  11th Annual Josie Music Awards,

at the Grand Ole Opry, in Nashville, Tennessee. 

He was honored with the award of  Guitarist of the Year.  
 

“To stand in the circle where some of my musical heroes have stood is surreal.”

To say this was an honor is an understatement.
